The Eternal King

Created for a personal project.
Here, I wanted to capture an entire culture in a single image – a culture in which death is merely a stage of life and in which a king retains power even after his death, served by a powerful caste of priests.

I used green and red to create an almost unsettling contrast, and drew inspiration from jewellery and hairstyles found in Tibet and various Indo-European cultures.
For the King, however, I simply took Catholic relics as my reference.
